Please introduce yourself and give us a quick rundown of what you do:
I'm Cynthia May, Co-Founder of beem® Light Sauna. We specialize in innovative light therapy experiences that promote wellness through relaxation, detoxification, and recovery. Our light therapies support physical and mental health, helping members achieve their wellness goals in a busy world.
What role does hydration play in your wellness routine?
Water is the cells'primary component and is needed to help joint health, digestive health, brain function, and skin health! I hydrate before and after my beem® sessions. This helps in recovery and enhances the benefits of the light session.
Why is choosing sustainable options, like Boxed Water, important to you?
Boxed Water reflects our core values, particularly our commitment to health, which
encompasses a healthy environment. By supporting brands that prioritize sustainability, we shift towards a healthier planet, which is essential for long-term wellness.
What steps have you taken to make your wellness practice or lifestyle more
sustainable?
At beem®, we recognize the powerful role of light therapy as an environmentally friendly option. Light is a fundamental resource that fuels all life, and by harnessing its benefits, we contribute to a healthier planet. By choosing light therapy, our members not only improve their well-being but also develop a greater appreciation for the natural resources that nourish us all.
beem Sauna is all about wellness—what health benefits do you see in clients
who regularly use saunas?
beem® members who regularly use our light therapy have numerous health benefits, including improved circulation, stress reduction, enhanced skin health, and relief from muscle soreness. Regular sessions can also help improve sleep quality and promote overall relaxation.
What's one wellness trend or practice you think more people should embrace?
I believe more people should embrace mindfulness. Mindfulness helps us focus on the moment, helping to reduce stress, and increase self-awareness. Incorporating just a few minutes of mindfulness into daily routines can significantly positively affect mental health and quality of life.
What is something you're currently reading, watching, or listening to that
inspires you?
Right now, I'm reading "Powerful: Building a Culture of Freedom and Responsibility" by Patty McCord. McCord's achievements as a top executive in the male-dominated tech industry serve as an empowering and inspiring example for women aspiring to leadership roles. She speaks boldly about the importance of organizational culture and the value of thinking outside the box, emphasizing that a strong culture guides behavior more effectively than rigid policies and leadership. Her insights encourage us to embrace innovative thinking and prioritize empowerment.
